How Santa Claus forgot Christmas

En clase de inglés hicimos un concurso de historias de Navidad. Hoy se ha anunciado el ganador, y resulta que he sido agraciado. Por eso os dejo la historia, pidiendo perdón por anticipado por los fallos que pueda contener, pero no he querido tocarla para mantener la historia original. Disfrutadla.

Friday, December 24th. Santa’s house, North Pole. It is such a cold day here in the North Pole. Anyway, nothing special, it is always a cold day in the North Pole. If you visit the North Pole and the weather is hot and sunny, maybe you took the wrong plane and you are in the Canary Islands. But let’s return to Santa’s house. He is sleeping at this moment, but Ms. Claus suddenly shouts at him: ‘Wake up man! Do you remember what day it is?’ Santa is thinking, trying to remember if he is forgetting something. Suddenly, he thinks: ‘Yes, I know I was forgetting a very important date. Today is my wedding anniversary.’ Santa takes his clothes and rushes through the door to reach his sleigh. Quickly, he arrives at the shopping mall, which is really crowded. ‘Wow, there are lots of anniversaries today,’ he thinks.

Santa goes to the jewelry section, but everything was sold out. Also, the perfume and women’s clothes departments are as empty as a desert. Finally, Santa buys a Julio Iglesias CD for Ms. Claus, because the Spanish singer is one of his wife’s favourites.

Santa returns home very happily because he found a present at last. He arrives with a big smile, and gives the present to her wife. ‘Happy anniversary, honey’, he says. Ms. Claus looks to the present, then looks to Santa and says: ‘Are you kidding me? Today is Christmas!’ ‘Oh dear, I forgot Christmas,’ Santa says crying.
